Rates for Pod and Micro School Support

If you've already assembled your pandemic pod or micro school, are in the process of organizing your pod, or are simply exploring whether or not you are interested in the idea, we've put together group pricing and basic outlines regarding how we can work together below. 

• Method: Your assigned tutors will be following closely with your student’s classroom curriculum obtained either through access to your student’s learning platform or communication with their teachers. Once our tutors are synced up with what is going on in your student’s classroom, they will seek to support the group’s learning with additional instruction, 1-on-1 feedback, and facilitated discussions of relevant course concepts.

• Scheduling: We can adjust scheduling according to what may be necessary for the group given the unprecedented nature of our situation. However, we would ideally aim to meet 2-3 times a week in 1.5-2 hour sessions covering core subjects like math, science, language arts, history, and foreign language. If you’d like to focus our academic support around a single subject area we can adjust our tutoring schedule accordingly. 

• Lesson Structure: In each session our goal will be to work with the group all together and then break out into small groups when necessary to support students individually. Each session will be geared towards supporting the topics that are being covered in the classroom that week, and working to help students complete lesson objectives and projects set by their classroom teachers. 

• Pricing: Our rate for 1-on-1 tutoring which will be available to any of the students in the group should they need additional support is based on their grade level and can be discussed upon request. Please see our small group rates below.

To offer flexibility in pricing, we’ve adjusted our rates according to the size of the group. We are able to bill for each participating student separately. Once we’ve established a student’s participation in small group tutoring sessions we will bill for these lessons each week regardless of their attendance unless we are notified of the need to cancel within 12hrs of a scheduled group session.

Technology we’ll be using to accomplish all of this:

• Zoom for video calling and breakout classrooms for small group support

• iPad + Apple Pencil to allow students to interact with their tutor in a shared virtual whiteboard in real time
